Rep. Schneider Joins Coalition of No Labels Problem Solvers to Unveil Bipartisan Legislative Package

U.S. Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today joined nearly 70 members of Congress from both sides of the aisle to unveil a legislative package aimed at making government more efficient and effective. The legislative package--Make Government Work--features nine bills and represents the first package offered by No Labels Problem Solvers.

"Whenever I am home, I hear over and over about the frustration with the partisan gridlock and the inability of Congress to work together to advance even the simplest, most sensible solutions to the issues we face," Schneider said. "I am a proud, lifelong Democrat, but I don't think either party has a monopoly on all the answers. I'm honored to stand with No Labels Problem Solvers who have found common ground on a number of sensible measures from streamlining medical records for our veterans to promoting public-private partnerships that help reduce the amount of energy the government wastes."

Congressman Schneider is a cosponsor of the No Budget, No Pay Act, the Energy Savings Through Public-Private Partnership Act, the 21st Century Health Care for Heroes Act, and the Bill to Promote Strategic Sourcing Principles Within the Federal Government, which are all included in the No Labels legislative package.

In June, Schneider joined the No Labels Problem Solvers citing his willingness to partner with anyone, regardless of party, to address the country's most urgent challenges. No Labels is a group of 80 Democrats, Republicans and Independents who are committed to meeting regularly to build trust and find mutual areas of interest across the aisle. Since January, the coalition has more than tripled in size.

Schneider is one of six members of the coalition from Illinois.
