Daines Appointed Vice Chair of the House Homeland Security Oversight Subcommittee

Congressman Steve Daines today announced his appointment as the Vice Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight and Management Efficiency.

Daines will serve alongside Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Management Efficiency. As Vice Chairman, Daines will help oversee the Committee's oversight of the Department of Homeland Security and efforts to improve the Department's efficiency and transparency.

"It is an honor to serve as Vice Chairman for the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Oversight and Management Efficiency," Daines stated. "I look forward to fighting for greater transparency and accountability in Washington and working toward reforms that ensure the Department of Homeland Security is fulfilling its duty to keep our borders secure and the American people safe."

Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) also commended Daines' work on the Homeland Security Committee:

"Although this is just his first year as a member of the Homeland Security Committee, Steve has been valuable from day one," Chairman McCaul stated."He will do a tremendous job in his new role, and I look forward to working with him as we continue our extensive oversight of the Department in the 113th Congress."

Daines also serves on the Homeland Security Subcommittees on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection, as well as the House Committees on Natural Resources and Transportation and Infrastructure.
