Earlier today, I spoke on the House floor about the impact Obamacare--and the tidal wave of regulations it brings with it--will have on the service industry. The service industry is a key component of Arkansas's economy. It creates over 100,000 jobs and its economic impact is estimated to be over $5 million. Unfortunately, it also stands to be devastated by Obamacare as the law's implementation date rapidly approaches. As this Washington Post article points out, employers are cutting part time hours in order to avoid the fines created by the law's employer mandate. Even with last week's vote in the House to delay both the employer and individual mandates, uncertainty remains. The only real solution for Arkansas's service industry is full repeal of this terrible law.
