Congressmen Launches Congressional Valley Fever Task Force

This week, Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-21) joined the newly-launched bipartisan Congressional Valley Fever Task Force, chaired by Congressman Kevin McCarthy (CA-22), in an effort to bring awareness to the fight against this disease. Congressman Valadao joins the following members of the task force:

The Task Force's goal is to share information with stakeholders in the medical and scientific fields to foster new advancements in prevention and treatment as well as work with community organizations to help educate individuals on the disease.

Congressman Valadao issued the following statement about the task force:

"Valley Fever is a silent public health crisis that is growing louder each day. The Central Valley and the state of California need greater exposure to the risk associated with and treatments for Valley Fever. I am proud to join this bipartisan group in the House to address an important issue to my constituents. I look forward to working with members of this caucus to educate the public about this terrible disease and advocate for those most affected by it."

Congressman McCarthy continued, "Many if not all of us know a family member, friend, neighbor, or co-worker that has been affected by Valley Fever and our fight against this disease continues. I am honored that my colleagues in Congress are joining our community's growing effort to raise awareness and eradicate this disease."
