Cassidy Slams Obamacare Waiver For Politicians

Statement

Date: Aug. 8, 2013
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) responded with the following statement to the Obama Administration's announcement that some Congressional staff may be exempt from the Obamacare insurance exchanges:

"The new rule from the Administration makes one thing very clear: Obamacare is a bad deal for the American people. It's disappointing that the Administration has decided to hand out waivers for some in Washington while failing to stop rising health care costs for families in Louisiana and across America. We need to repeal and replace the entire law.

"My staff and I are prepared to go on the exchanges and I also introduced the In It All Together Act, which would force President Obama and his Cabinet, the people who created Obamacare, to enter the exchanges as well. President Obama and his Cabinet should have to deal with the health care law the same way American families do."
