U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement today after voting against B. Todd Jones for Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in the Judiciary Committee.
"During his time at ATF, Mr. Jones has had a troubling track record, littered with mismanagement and scandals like Fast and Furious. As a committed defender of Texans' Second Amendment rights, I have serious concerns that Mr. Jones would infringe on these rights. Because of his lack of leadership and accountability, I could not vote to move his nomination forward."
