Arkansas 4-H: It was great to have a group from the Arkansas 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus in town this week! In between votes we were able to snap a quick picture on the Capitol steps.

Immigration Reform: On Thursday I wrote this op-ed in the Wall Street Journal about my concerns with the Senate immigration bill. Please take a minute to share your thoughts with me on this important topic via my website.

A True Farm Bill: This week the House passed a true farm bill for the first time in two decades. I promised during my campaign to change the way Washington works. For 40 years, farm programs have been chained to the food-stamp program. We've now finally broken this needless link. Rather than a bloated, $940 billion dollar bill that was 80% food stamps, we now have a Farm Bill focused squarely on farmers.

Constituent Visits: It's been wonderful to have so many Arkansans stop-by my office on their trips to D.C. this summer! It's nice to see familiar faces and hear those familiar Arkansas accents. Foreign Affairs Committee Hearing: This week I attended the Foreign Affairs Committee Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee hearing entitled "Learning from Iraq: A Final Report from the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction". As an Army veteran who deployed to Iraq while on active duty, I had a particular interest in this hearing.
