Statement

Dear Neighbors,

I hope your holiday weekend is off to a great start. This week, I attended the Advancing Women in Transportation Greater Chicagoland Chapter dinner. This group is working on crucial transportation and infrastructure issues in our district, such as the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway. This project will cut the commuting time of my constituents and give our businesses the opportunity to move their products more efficiently throughout Illinois and across the country. It was great to meet with so many inspiring men and women committed to important projects like these.

I also met with the Small Business Administration of Illinois. We discussed creating a series of workshops dedicated to helping small business owners, as well as the legislation I introduced to help small businesses owners comply with burdensome federal regulations. My bipartisan Small Business Paperwork Relief Act would give small businesses the opportunity to correct a first time error in filling out federal paperwork without being fined. There are many Members of Congress who want to support small business & job creation, and this is the type of bipartisan legislation we can work on to help those individuals.

I celebrated the Fourth of July at the Village Fest in Mount Prospect, the Taste of Lombard Festival, and Liberty Fest in Bensenville. It was great to see members of the American Legion Post 525 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1337, as well as other neighbors and friends.
