Van Hollen Announces $299,940 Grant for Easter Seals of the Greater Washington-Baltimore Region

Statement

Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen announced that the Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service has awarded $299,940 to Easter Seals of the Greater Washington-Baltimore Region as part of the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program. The grant will help homeless veterans reintegrate into society and the labor force. The services provided by grantees will include job placement, on-the-job training, career counseling, life skills and money management mentoring, as well as help in finding housing.

"I am pleased that the Department of Labor has awarded this grant to Easter Seals of Greater Washington and Baltimore," said Congressman Van Hollen. "Our military service members have sacrificed so much in serving our country, and we owe them the opportunity and resources to successfully transition to civilian life upon their return home. I look forward to continuing to work with organizations like Easter Seals to provide our veterans and their families with viable options as they reintegrate into our community."
