Today, Representative Steven Horsford (NV-4) released the following statement after the United States Senate approved a comprehensive immigration reform package, 68-32:
"I applaud Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senator Dean Heller, and all who voted in favor of comprehensive immigration reform today. Now, the House of Representatives is faced with a choice: pass comprehensive reform or fail to act on one of the most important issues of our time.
"If the House stalls, families will continue to be torn apart, young students will continue to live in the shadows, and workers will continue to be exploited. Doing nothing is not an option and using a piecemeal process is insufficient.
"I urge my colleagues in the House to work together to pass a comprehensive immigration reform measure, because a patchwork and backwards approach will sink efforts to fix our broken immigration system."
