Cornyn Joins Effort to Repeal Death Tax

Press Release

Date: June 25, 2013
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Taxes

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after cosponsoring the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2013 to permanently repeal the federal estate tax:

"The Death Tax is an unfair and unjust tax that attacks family-owned farms, ranches, and agricultural businesses across Texas. No grieving family should be hit with a tax burden as they say goodbye to a loved one. It's time to put common sense above Washington greed and get rid of the death tax once and for all."

The bill is supported by the American Farm Bureau Federation, Associated Builders and Contractors, National Association of Manufacturers, National Federation of Independent Business, 60 Plus Association, Americans for Tax Reform, Club for Growth, National Black Chamber of Commerce, International Franchise Association, National Taxpayers Union, American Conservative Union, Family Business Coalition, and many others.
