House Passes 37th Repeal of Obamacare

On Thursday the U.S. House voted in favor of Obamacare repeal. This marks the 37th time the chamber has voted for full or partial repeal of the health-care reform package. House Republicans have managed to enact into law nearly $60 billion in cuts to Obamacare programs since the law was passed. Unfortunately, the bill will still cost $1.88 trillion in its first ten years, nearly double the original estimates, and raise taxes on all Americans by total of $1.1 trillion. Despite the President's promise to reduce premium costs by $2,500, premiums continue to go up with some individuals and businesses facing double digit increases.

"The House has made its point 37 times now," Rep. Lummis said. "We're not alone in calling for Obamacare repeal; the more premiums go up and the more broken promises that are exposed, the more company we'll have. This is a financial train wreck for our economy and falls miles short of the guarantees made by the Obama Administration in 2009. Young people's pocketbooks will be hit especially hard by Obamacare -- they will be subsidizing older Americans' healthcare. And let's not forget that the IRS is the top enforcer of Obamacare regulations through the tax code. With the recent revelations of the IRS' abuse of power and leaking of private documents; I don't think it's a good idea to have the IRS in charge of the healthcare system. It's time to take the hint. America says "no.'"
