Congressman Gus M. Bilirakis (R-FL) today issued the following statement upon learning of the loss of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher:

"Lady Thatcher was a great leader and one of the United States' greatest allies during the Cold War. Her legacy as the first female Prime Minister and willingness to tackle difficult issues head on will continue to inspire many for years to come. May her memory be eternal."
