Today, Rep. Dave Joyce released the following statement on his vote supporting the House Republican budget, the Path to Prosperity:

"Ohioans need a serious and realistic budget that holds Washington accountable and protects hardworking taxpayers. This proposal cuts wasteful spending and achieves the common-sense goal of balancing our nation's budget, which will help grow our economy. It also protects and strengthens important priorities like Medicare. Washington owes Ohio families a balanced budget. I'm pleased to support a plan that stops the reckless Washington spending."

The Path to Prosperity reduces deficits by $4.6 trillion over the next ten years. It targets wasteful Washington spending and reforms the drivers of the debt. The bill passed by a vote of 221-207. The current national debt is $16.7 trillion dollars.
