Representative Doug Collins (R-GA), offered a brief statement following the release of the House Budget Committee's proposal for the upcoming FY14 fiscal year:
"We have a long way to go in the fight to repair our country's financial footing," Collins said. "But today, my colleagues on the House Budget Committee took a courageous step in the right direction by introducing a plan to balance the federal budget in ten years through meaningful spending reductions, necessary entitlement reform and eradicating the number one job killer in America -- Obamacare. I only wish their counterparts in the Senate would have done the same. Instead, Senate Democrats showed little concern for my children and yours when they proposed adding an additional $1 trillion to the financial burden America's future generations are already facing.
"While President Obama might find more political expediency in ignoring our current financial and economic woes, the hardworking people of Northeast Georgia elected me to lead. And Mr. Obama may not realize this, but being a leader in Washington means making difficult decisions that will continue American economic prosperity and growth for years to come. My children and yours deserve this from our nation's leaders, and that is why I plan to vote yes to Chairman Ryan's pending proposal."
