Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy released the following statement in opposition to the President's nomination of Mr. Thomas Perez, the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, as the next Secretary of Labor:

"Based on recent events in Louisiana, it appears that Mr. Perez has been unacceptably selective in enforcing federal law," said Congressman Cassidy. "If this is how Mr. Perez approaches law enforcement he should not receive a promotion and should not remain in his current position."
