U.S. Reps. Valadao, Swalwell Plan Joint Seating at State of the Union

Statement

U.S. Rep. David G. Valadao (R-CA) released the following statement this afternoon:

"The American people are best served when Members of Congress put aside their differences and come together to find solutions to the issues our country is facing today. I am committed to working with anyone, regardless of their political party, who is willing to tackle the most difficult problems facing this country and specifically the 21st Congressional district. For this reason, I plan to sit with my colleague and fellow Californian Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) during tomorrow's State of the Union Address where President Obama will outline his priorities for the next four years.

While my colleague and I may not always agree on specific policies, we both share the same interest of serving our constituents the best we can. The first step to finding solutions is having open, honest, and respectful dialogue. Only then can our country truly move forward."
