Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-8) announced her subcommittee assignments for both the House Armed Services and Oversight and Government Reform Committees. Duckworth, who is currently serving in her 21st year as an officer in the US Army, will sit on the Tactical Air and Land Forces subcommittee and Oversight and Investigations subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee. She will also serve on the Economic Growth, Job Creation and Regulatory Affairs subcommittee and the Energy Policy, Health Care and Entitlements subcommittee for the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

"I am honored to have been named to these subcommittees and I know that they will give me the opportunity to take action on the priorities of the 8th Congressional District," said Duckworth. "My subcommittees on the Armed Services Committee will help me work to keep America's military the strongest in the world and cut wasteful spending at the Pentagon. My subcommittees for Oversight and Government Reform will allow me to stand up for our small businesses by working to remove excessive regulations and making sure that government is helping small businesses succeed and not inhibiting them."
