Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX) released the following statement after voting against H.R. 8 as amended by the Senate:

"At the end of the day I cannot support legislation that increases taxes $41 for every dollar of cuts. This bill only serves to bring more money into the Treasury. It completely avoids dealing with the spending problem, which is the root of our country's economic crisis."
