Today, Congressman Tim Walz released the following statement calling on Speaker Boehner to return to the negotiating table after walking away from fiscal cliff negotiations after the failed attempt to vote on so-called "Plan B" legislation last night.
"The American people deserve economic certainty and it shouldn't be this difficult to give it to them. Speaker Boehner needs to be the Speaker for the entire House of Representatives, come back to the negotiating table, and do what's best for the country. He should start by passing my middle class tax cuts bill that would garner both Republican and Democratic support if brought to the floor. I will do everything in my power to prevent Washington's dysfunction from sending our economy over the fiscal cliff, and call on Speaker Boehner to do the same. Time is running out."
