Baldwin Secures Federal Funds for Dane Cty. Airport

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin has secured $1.5 million in federal funds for improvements at Dane County Regional Airport. The money, included in the fiscal year 2005 omnibus federal budget passed today in Congress, will help fund phase 2 of the Runway 13 Safety Area to help the airport comply with current FAA design criteria.

"This is exactly the kind of federal/local partnership that benefits local communities and I'm pleased my efforts to secure the funds were successful," said Baldwin who had secured $7.1 million for the project in FY2004. "We are working on many levels to help our airport meet the expanding needs of our business community."

Dane County Regional Airport is the second busiest airport in Wisconsin, serving not just commercial airline passengers, but the ever-growing business and corporate aviation needs in the state as well as the military.
