KOHL, BALDWIN SECURE FEDERAL FUNDS FOR MADISON COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER
To Add Much-Needed Dental Suites
Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and Senator Herb Kohl today secured $200,000 in federal funds to help the Madison Community Health Center add much-needed dental suites in its new northeast-side facility. This will increase MCHC's dental capacity from 3,000 annual visits to 12,000. The money is included in the omnibus budget bill passed by Congress today.
"Madison Community Health Center is an invaluable asset to our community and a life-saver for families lacking health care insurance or access to health care providers. The dental services they provide low-income families are desperately needed and these funds will benefit thousands of men, women, and children. I'm honored to partner with Senator Kohl in bringing federal resources to such a deserving community program," said Baldwin.
"The need remains great in Madison for dental care for the uninsured. The Madison Community Health Center has provided dental care to thousands in the area, and today's funding will help them serve even more. I'm pleased we could make this investment," Kohl said.
