Issue Position

We need to keep middle class jobs in Yonkers so that working families can afford to raise their families here. Shelley will work hard to maintain our quality of life. Shelley sponsored the new state law, signed by Governor Cuomo, that will allow Yonkers to finally have an Adjudication Bureau which will allow quality of life offenses to be heard and determined quickly, so that noise, garbage and other quality of life offenses get the attention they deserve. Shelley co-sponsored legislation to establish a new Justice Center to protect New Yorkers with special needs. She also co-sponsored the new law which tightens the laws against cyber-bullying and co-sponsored the law which will crack down on prescription drug abuse. She also fought for legislation to strengthen rent protection for tenants.
