As ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Economic Development and Small Business, I have been fighting to create jobs in Western New York and put New Yorkers back to work.

We have secured several accomplishments that will lead to a stronger economy throughout our state, including NY-SUNY 2020, the property tax cap, ReCharge NY, Green Jobs Workforce Development legislation, among others.

New York has also revamped its economic development policy to be a regional approach to job creation. The Regional Economic Development Councils will help each unique area of our state capitalize on its strengths to overcome challenges and grow their local economy.

It's an intelligent method that will ensure Western New York is not left behind on our road to recovery.
