Issue Position

North Carolina must end the welfare state. We must set time limits on benefits received per situation, identify and verify the father of dependent children before benefits are paid and deny benefits to those recipients that test positive for use of illegal drugs or use welfare money to buy unauthorized substances. The welfare safety net was created to address short term needs and unexpected turn of events in the lives of the citizens of North Carolina but never a generational way of life.
