Issue Position

Our children are our future. Everybody says it, John believes it and lives it. They deserve safe, challenging, and fully funded 21st Century classrooms. John will fight against any more unfunded mandates and will continue to insist on local control of our schools through elected school boards. Education is a civil right, it creates equal access and equal opportunity for every student. John has dedicated his adult life to those values at the local, state, and national level. Costs need to be contained for students seeking post-secondary degrees and certifications. Rewarding careers for well-trained Minnesotans are essential for our state's future and John will continue to help design a direct path to these opportunities. John will fight any attempts to shift future funds away from schools and will demand a plan to pay the schools back.
