IGNORING WESTERN SLOPE'S BEST INTEREST, BLM PLANS TO LEASE ROAN
WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement on the BLM's draft plan for energy exploration on the Roan Plateau:
"The BLM's preferred alternative does not adequately take into consideration the wishes of the communities to protect the top of the Roan Plateau. I will continue to work close with the local communities of the Western Slope, and the hunters, fishermen and outfitters, during the 90-day comment period to make sure that the best interests of Coloradoans are protected. We should be able to develop a plan that will adequately protect Roan and balance the interests of all who use it."
