Issue Position

We need to cut the waste, fraud, corruption and abuse in state spending. I'll bring the latest in technology, like reverse auctioning that bids down the price of state contracts for qualified contractors. I'll vote to eliminate any double or unnecessary program. For the last several budget cycles, Illinois State Government has annually spent more money than it received in tax revenues and federal aid. The result: budget deficits, pension liabilities, and an unfriendly economic and business environment.
