Issue Position

* Without sound highways and other transportation systems, businesses can't ship and receive goods. Without public-private partnerships fostering research at Kansas' universities, new industries in the 2nd District will have a harder time being born, and aging industries will face more difficulty retooling. I support responsible, measured investments with clear goals in infrastructure and research. Such investments create good jobs, foster innovation and build the economy of the future.

* Small businesses are the heart of the 2nd District. I will advocate for small businesses and work to make it easier for entrepreneurs to get loans. I will work to eliminate unnecessary regulations, and I will seek tax credits for small businesses that hire new workers and make capital investments.
