House Passes Legislation to Help Manufacturing Sector

Press Release

Date: Sept. 14, 2012

This week, Rep. Schiff supported passage of a bipartisan bill -- the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2012 (H.R. 5865) -- which is part of the "Make It In America" agenda. This bill would establish a new manufacturing competitiveness board to advise the President, analyze the manufacturing sector, and develop strategies to promote the growth and competitiveness of American production. With the U.S. manufacturing sector shrinking for the third straight month, this legislation comes at a critical time.

After passing the legislation, Schiff commented, "As a strong supporter of the view that we must make America a manufacturing powerhouse again, I was proud to support the bill."
