I believe legislation should encourage and promote local job creation. In this economy, jobs and economic growth are among the most important issues facing our families and communities. While in the Senate I sponsored legislation which called for: removing the tax exemption status of ACORN, support of the Employee Free Choice Act., and a Resolution urging Congress to avoid passing the Cap and Trade legislation. While we, as citizens, justly debate the solutions to the transportation issue, it remains a fact that improved transportation provides a business climate which produces much need jobs. Job creation is one of the solutions to improving our economy and the future for our next generation.
With rights come responsibilities and I believe in our individual responsibility to provide for our own future and the future of our children. I am honored to serve as your legislator and I truly appreciate the support of the people of this district.
