Senator Hinojosa recognizes that small businesses are what fuels Texas' economic engine, employing one out of every two Texans. As Vice Chair of Senate Finance, Hinojosa has put small businesses at the forefront of Texas' economic future.

* Voted for legislation that tripled the franchise tax exemption for small businesses and created the Texas Enterprise Zone Program that stimulates statewide investment.
* Secured millions of dollars for the Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Program, designed to help put Texans back in the workforce.
* Secured $1 million for a small business incubator at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus.
* Secured $1.3 million in Texas Career Opportunity Grants to help low-income Texans enter the job market quickly
