Congressman Carson is continually a strong voice in Congress for programs that are putting Hoosiers back to work and pulling our nation out of its worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. This summer he successfully fought to bring more of your tax dollars back for transportation projects, ensuring the creation of thousands of new jobs across the state.
Carson was a strong proponent of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which made critical investments across the country that helped to reverse our economic downturn. He worked tirelessly with the Obama Administration to ensure that billions of dollars came to Indiana to keep teachers in the classroom, police officers on the street, and manufacturing business doors open.
As a member of the Financial Services Committee, Congressman Carson played an important role in the investigation and reform of the financial industry following its collapse in 2008. He helped author Wall Street reform legislation, known as Dodd-Frank, which is protecting consumers and holding Wall Street accountable for the dishonest and destructive practices that caused millions to lose their homes and our economy to suffer. He will continue to fight against Republican efforts to dismantle financial regulatory reform, a move that would create new avenues for Wall Street to take advantage of middle-class families.
