Gosar: "Arizona Must Do What the Federal Government Refuses to Do"

Press Release

Date: April 25, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, D.D.S (R-AZ) issued the following statement today regarding oral argument in the United States Supreme Court Arizona v. United States.

Congressman Gosar continued, "I feel strongly that the Obama administration erred in its decision to sue the state to block important provisions of this law and I am confident that the U.S. Supreme Court will uphold Arizona's rights to protect its citizens and law enforcement officers. Our state and other states across the nation deserve the clarity that will come from the judgment in this case."

Recent national opinion-polling shows that Americans are increasingly supportive of this piece of legislation, favoring S.B. 1070 by a 65-31 margin.

The state law currently under review by the Supreme Court was enacted in 2010 to recognize and address the illegal immigration problem facing Arizona.
