Plummer Unveils Agricultural Coalition in Perry County

Jason Plummer, Republican Nominee for Illinois' 12th Congressional District, unveiled his Agricultural Coalition on August 16 at Krone Farms in Perry County.

Plummer's Agricultural Coalition is made up of more than 15 farmers and agricultural workers from the District who support Plummer's campaign.

"Right now, farmers across the country, and especially in Southern Illinois are hurting," Plummer said. "They are facing an unprecedented drought, and as a result, their crops have been devastated."

"Farmers, just like any other industry in the country, need certainty. In Congress, I will fight to pass a farm bill that provides the long-term security that our agricultural workers need, especially in light of the recent weather," Plummer added.

Plummer spent the day meeting with farmers from across the District. Following the coalition announcement, the campaign hosted a luncheon at the DuQuoin farm and listened to their concerns.

"Farmers across the District have made it clear that Washington continues to get in their way," Plummer said. "With out-of-control regulations that mandate that 15-year-old children cannot work on a family farm and seek to limit the amount of dust a combine kicks up, our farmers are put at a serious disadvantage. We need to get government out of the way and let our farmers and agricultural workers do what they do best: work their land."
