CORNYN STATEMENT ON RESIGNATION OF SECRETARY EVANS

WASHINGTON -U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the President's Export Council, made the following statement Tuesday regarding the resignation of Commerce Secretary Don Evans:

"As Commerce Secretary, Don Evans helped America 's economy recover from the 9/11 attacks, and helped keep America competitive in a global economy. Thanks to the leadership of President Bush and Cabinet members such as Don Evans, our economy is growing and continues to grow stronger. Following 14 straight months of job increases, I'm confident that the initiatives he's implemented at Commerce will continue to create opportunities for all Americans."
