CORNYN STATEMENT ON ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHCROFT'S RESIGNATION
WASHINGTON-U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and former Texas Attorney General, made the following statement Tuesday regarding the resignation of Attorney General John Ashcroft:
"John Ashcroft has served this country well as Attorney General and was a key leader in fighting the war on terror. He redirected the resources of the Justice Department to this important mission and helped keep America safe. I appreciate his service and will work with his successor to ensure continuity of these and other critical initiatives."
