Congressman Schock Visits Southern Illinois to Support Plummer

Congressman Aaron Schock (R-Peoria) traveled to Illinois' 12th Congressional District on July 30 to support Jason Plummer's campaign for Congress.

During his visit, Congressman Schock and Plummer visited the Altered Grounds Landscaping and Outdoor Services Company in Pontoon Beach to discuss the burdensome regulations that harm the economy.

"Small businesses are the economic engine of our country having created 64 percent of the net new jobs over the last 15 year. Yet, unelected bureaucrats in Washington continue to weigh small businesses down with costly and burdensome regulations," said Congressman Schock. "House Republicans are fighting back against unnecessary red tape by continuing to pass legislation to dramatically curb these economically damaging regulations. Unfortunately these efforts continue to be opposed by both House and Senate Democrats who think Washington is the answer, instead of the problem.

Schock added that in Congress, Plummer would join the bipartisan effort to fight the regulations that hurt job growth.

"We need reinforcements like Jason Plummer, who understand how private sector jobs are created, to help us end these onerous rules and jump-start our economy," Congressman Schock added.

Plummer said he honored to receive Congressman Schock's support.

"I truly appreciate Congressman Schock's willingness to come to Southern Illinois and support my campaign," Plummer said. "Congressman Schock has been leading the charge against excessive government regulations and oversight, and I look forward to working with him to get government out of the way of our businesses."
