Health care is one of the most complicated and expensive services provided by our state government. As a pharmacist, Ronnie has come face-to-face with the challenges of helping folks in District 18 with their health care needs. He knows how the high costs of prescription drugs are impacting families and seniors and how they can drain financial resources.

He has also seen the inefficiencies in the system. Even before being elected to the Senate, Ronnie was working to improve South Carolina's health provider community. In 1997, he co-authored the South Carolina Pharmacy Practices Act. Ronnie is using his experience to lead the fight ensuring that the state fully funds Medicaid from recurring sources of revenue. He wants to protect prescription drug programs that help seniors and those on fixed incomes, and to make health care and prescription drugs more affordable for all South Carolinians.
