SNOWE AND COLLINS ANNOUNCE MORE THAN $2.5 MILLION IN WELFARE GRANTS
Washington, DC - U.S. Senators Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) today announced an additional award of $2,563,677 in federal funding for Maine's Food Stamps program. This funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
"This funding was awarded based on the Maine's success in transitioning low-income families into the workforce with assistance from the Food Stamps program," Snowe and Collins said in a joint statement. "This federal funding award is critical to further enhancing the state's efforts to assist low income families."
