Today, U.S. Rep. Gary Peters issued the following statement regarding Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's diplomatic trip to Israel:

"I commend the Obama Administration for sending Secretary Clinton to Israel to meet with Knesset leaders and Prime Minister Netanyahu. I know that a strong US-Israel alliance is critical and I applaud this trip as strong affirmation of the unbreakable bond between Israel and the United States and America's commitment to Israel's security. Although the sanctions on Iran that I have supported and the Administration has implemented are working, the Iranian regime continues to move forward with its nuclear program. Sec. Clinton's visit will highlight the President's position that a nuclear Iran is an unacceptable existential threat, not only to the Jewish State of Israel, but to security in the region and the world."
