Congressman Turner is committed to working towards a healthy economy for our region. When the future of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base was on the line during the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) process, Mike successfully fought to protect existing base projects and helped bring an additional 1,000 jobs to Wright-Patterson. In addition to his efforts during the BRAC process, he recently voted for the bipartisan As a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, Mike remains in constant contact with Defense Department leaders, members of our business community, and those whose work focuses on Wright-Patterson.

Congressman Turner remains concerned about U.S. manufacturers who are impacted by unfair trade practices giving foreign competitors an inequitable advantage over U.S. companies. He has advocated leveling the playing field for American companies by co-sponsoring the Fair Currency Act, which would lead to China re-evaluating their currency to a realistic value. Additionally, Turner has stood firmly behind American values by voting against every government bailout, and continues to fight for Delphi retirees who saw their pensions wiped out in during the automotive bailout process.
