Issue Position: Investing in Eastern Connecticut

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

Eastern Connecticut has always been a hub of innovation and advancement with its many research universities and colleges, cutting-edge defense industry, and its sixty-five close-knit communities to support them all. When I was sworn into Congress, I vowed to work each day to provide a brighter economic future for our region and to secure the necessary federal support for local initiatives. I believe in investing in the Second Congressional District's future by pursuing federal funding that responsibly develops new economic opportunities.

That is why I am working to:

*Connect communities, organizations, and small businesses across our region with federal grant opportunities

*Help families, businesses, and communities fight through government bureaucracy that too often keeps them from the resources and benefits they need.

*Advance eastern Connecticut's priorities through ongoing legislation in Congress.
