As your Representative, Lincoln encourages responsible stewardship of state finances and works for a balanced state budget without placing undue tax burdens on the business community.

Lincoln is the proud sponsor of "Missouri Works," a bi-partisan economic development bill that would provide tools to grow the economy in Missouri. "Missouri Works" eliminates red-tape by simplifying six business development tax credit programs. It also gives the Department of Economic Development more flexibility in awarding tax credits to growing businesses in our state.

"Missouri Works" is supported by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, the Springfield Chamber of Commerce along with dozens of economic development corporations across the state.

Lincoln is also carrying a companion piece to the "Missouri Works" bill that gives Missouri's community colleges and employers the resources to train or re-train workers to better fill the roles in Missouri's expanding industries.

A strong pro-business climate is critical for Southwest Missouri to be successful in competing for new commerce and creating jobs. "Missouri Works" and its companion legislation is an important first step in ensuring Missouri's economy is viable in the global marketplace.
