Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) released the following statement regarding a change in Administration policy ensuring deportations cease for young, undocumented immigrants:
"The President's announcement is a welcome step in the right direction. For too long, our broken immigration system has torn apart families and victimized young people who came to the United States as children. Now, it is incumbent on Congress to move forward with comprehensive immigration reform."
