Velázquez on Supreme Court Ruling on Arizona Immigration Ruling

Statement

Date: June 25, 2012
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Rep. Nydia M. Velázquez (D-NY) released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court's ruling on Arizona's immigration law:

"While I am pleased the Court struck down several of the constitutionally questionable provisions in this law, I remain concerned that it upheld elements that could still allow for racial profiling. Regardless, this issue is not going away. We must continue working for an immigration reform law that addresses these issues in a comprehensive manner."
