Issue Position

The unemployment rate in St. Johns County remains unacceptably high. Many families find themselves underwater on their mortgages. These circumstances cannot change until we start to see job growth. What is true here is true throughout Florida.

The government cannot create jobs. We have made great strides the last two years in helping reduce the size of government and reducing regulations to encourage entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. There is a long way to go for us to make Florida the best place to start or move a business. I am committed to further shrinking the size of government and repealing regulations that work contrary to the primary goal of encouraging private-sector job growth.

Our neighbors who are facing difficulties everyday only want the opportunity to work to support their families. I owe it to them to remove barriers to their achieving that.
