George Allen Owes Answers to Seniors in Woodbridge

When George Allen heads to the Woodbridge Senior Center today - will he explain his vote to shift Social Security dollars to private accounts before the collapse of the stock market? Or continue his praise for the budget from Representative Paul Ryan that would shift costs onto seniors and dramatically change Medicare? Or talk about his signing of the Cut, Cap, and Balance pledge that would gut vital services for older Americans?

If he doesn't - Woodbridge seniors should ask him.

While in the Senate the last time, George Allen supported and voted for a plan to move Social Security dollars to private accounts. Had he been successful, millions of retirees in America, including hundreds of thousands of Virginians, would have taken a devastating hit to their retirement savings when the stock market bottomed out.

And it's clear George Allen hasn't learned his lesson. In this campaign, Allen has committed to the Cut, Cap, and Balance pledge and an all-cuts approach to our fiscal issues that would make significant cuts to everything from health care to Social Security. In addition, Allen's continues to praise the Ryan budget that would shift significant health care costs to seniors and fundamentally alter Medicare that provides health care to 99% of Virginia seniors.
