Issue Position

In December of 2010, I successfully fought to extend the 2001 & 2003 tax cuts. The pending tax increases, which would have totaled $3.8 trillion, would have been the largest in American history. We don't need taxes weighing down an economic recovery. I support reducing the capital gains, the U.S.'s corporate tax rate and eliminating the inheritance tax. An outdated and over burdensome tax code has been piled on the backs of small businesses and clearly only benefits those with access to accountants and lawyers. I support simplifying the tax code and making America a more attractive place for business growth and development.
