SENATORS SNOWE & COLLINS ANNOUNCE NEARLY $1.5 MILLION FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS IN MAINE

Grants will help expand services in Penobscot County and Katahdin Valley Region

Washington, DC - Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins today announced that the Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor and the Katahdin Valley Health Center in Patten will receive grants totaling $1,466,343 to expand the range of health care services that they offer. The "New Access Point Grants" are awarded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

"These health centers are so valuable to their local communities because they provide comprehensive primary health care services, often to many people who do not have health insurance," said Senators Snowe and Collins in a joint statement. "These grants will expand the reach of Maine's network of community health centers and provide greater access to care to those most in need."
